Why Learn About Chiron?

Updated: Feb 26

Chiron is one of the most important placements to look for in your chart. In astrology, Chiron is an asteroid that was discovered in 1977. In mythology, Chiron represents the wounded healer archetype. This is because Chiron points to our deepest wound; the one that we are most directed to heal in this lifetime.

When I do astrology readings, I focus heavily on Chiron and the lunar nodes. This is because, when taken together, the understanding of one’s karma, life purpose, and core wound reveal so much about the individual. Most people are only focused on their Sun, Moon, and rising sign, but those who are looking to evolve and heal usually want to go a bit deeper than that.

To unravel all that Chiron means in your chart, you’ll first want to look at what house it’s in, then, what sign. Once you locate that information, you can start researching all the implications of your wound. If you are approaching age 50, you’ll especially want to research “Chiron return.” This is a very important time in your life to be doing healing work because it is the time that transiting Chiron conjuncts your natal Chiron. If that all seems too daunting, reach out to me for a reading and we’ll focus on exploring your Chiron in a way that’s easy to understand.

The benefits of learning where Chiron is in your chart are as follows:

- You'll gain a deeper understanding of what triggers you most and why

- You'll receive a roadmap of how to heal so that you can begin to eliminate the anxiety that comes from the fear of becoming upset - and being overtaken by external stimuli

- You'll establish better emotional control over situations you once felt victim to

- You'll be rewarded with your greatest spiritual gift. This gift will be revealed in time through the way you relate to others and help them heal.

- You will experience increased inner peace and serenity

- You will have the inner knowing that you are doing the healing work you came here to do
